S&P lowers rating by one notch and revised outlook to negative

S&P Global Ratings revised rating of DB AG to AA- and lowers outlook from “stable” to “negative”. Short-term rating unchanged.

(Berlin, June 11, 2020) The rating agency S&P Global Ratings (S&P) announced today, that it revised the long-term rating assessments of Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) from “AA” to “AA-“ and at the same time lowered the outlook from “stable” to “negative”. The short-term rating of DB AG is unchanged (“A-1+”).

The rating revision reflects the opinion of S&P, that DB Group’s development will due to the corona crisis be weaker than previously expected in short and medium-term.

The revision of the rating outlook results among others from current corona-related uncertainties with regard “to the pace of recovery in passenger rail” and in terms of the effect of the development of the economic environment.

The release of S&P and more details regarding the ratings of DB AG may be found on our IR Web site
