Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) receives silver medal in the EcoVadis rating.

In the internationally recognised EcoVadis rating, Deutsche Bahn Group has maintained a score of 68 points out of a maximum of 100 points in 2023 (2022: 68 points). In addition, DB Group was awarded with a silver medal (2022: gold medal) for its sustainability performance. The difference compared to the previous year is due to an adjustment of the medal scale by EcoVadis.

According to EcoVadis, DB Group has, among other things, a structured sustainability concept and a comprehensive sustainability reporting. In the rail transport industry, we rank among the top 2 % of all companies. In addition, we are among the top six percent in the categories "Environment" and "Labour and Human Rights" and in the area of "Sustainable Procurement" we are even among the top one percent in the rail transport industry.

For purchasing organizations, sustainability standards and ratings are becoming increasingly important in the supply chain. More and more customers are requesting this information and setting it as a prerequisite for awarding contracts.

EcoVadis has been evaluating the performance of companies in the fields of sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) since 2007. The methodology is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000. EcoVadis operates a collaborative platform that provides sustainability ratings of companies. It is used by buyers and suppliers worldwide.
