Michael Obrowski, born in 1969, has been the Member of the Management Board for Finance at Deutsche Bahn AG since September 1, 2026.

After graduating with a degree in industrial engineering and gaining initial experience as a controller at Kautex Werke AG, he began his career at the Volkswagen Group in 1995. He spent almost 30 years in management roles at VW, both in Germany and abroad. 

Following postings in Mexico, Russia, Italy and the UK, he returned to Germany in 2016, becoming Head of Group Controlling at Volkswagen AG. In 2021 he was appointed Head of the Financial and IT division at the subsidiary Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. In this role, Obrowski put in place a new corporate strategy, developed a data strategy that included AI applications, and led the financial transformation that resulted in significantly improved results. He left VW to join DB AG as the Member of the Management Board for Finance, commencing on September 1, 2026.

Michael Obrowski is married with two daughters.
