Strong Rail
Strong Rail has been DB Group’s strategy since 2019. However, the crises in recent years have had a significant impact on the achievement of our goals. That is why the S3 restructuring program was launched at the end of 2024. In 2025, the focus was therefore on the structural modernization of DB Group in the areas of infrastructure, operations and profitability.
The change in leadership at the top of DB Group in October 2025 marked the beginning of a “restart.” The centrally managed S3 restructuring program was concluded at the end of 2025 and relevant responsibilities were transferred to line management. With the “restart,” DB Group is undergoing a comprehensive realignment, taking into account the “Agenda for Satisfied Rail Customers” presented by the BMV in September 2025.
