Deutsche Bahn issues EUR 500 mn benchmark bond

Deutsche Bahn issues Euro benchmark bond with volume of € 500 million

(Berlin, February 27, 2012) Deutsche Bahn successfully issued an euro benchmark bond today via its financing subsidiary, Deutsche Bahn Finance B.V., Amsterdam/the Netherlands. The twelve-year bond bears a coupon of 3.000 % and has a total volume of € 500 million. The issuing price was 99.129 % resulting in a yield of 3.088 %. The proceeds of the new issue will be used by Deutsche Bahn to increase its financial flexibility.

In a volatile market environment, the demand for the bond was significantly higher than the volume offered. The bond was 1.5- times oversubscribed. Investors appreciated the first Deutsche Bahn corporate benchmark issue in the year 2012.

The new bond found the interest of especially institutional investors mainly from the UK, Germany and Switzerland. The bond will be listed on the Luxemburg Stock Exchange. With a denomination of € 1,000 also retail investors can directly purchase the securities.

The issuing consortium was co-headed by DZ Bank, Goldman Sachs, LB Baden-Württemberg and Morgan Stanley.
