(Berlin, December 2, 2013) Deutsche Bahn successfully increased today the 13-year GBP 300 million bond issued in July 2013 under its MTN program via its financing subsidiary, Deutsche Bahn Finance B.V., Amsterdam/the Netherlands by GBP 125 million (nearly € 151 million).
The issue with a maturity of 12.6 years has a coupon of 3.125 %. The issuing price was 95.141 % resulting in a yield of 3.610 %. The bond will be used by Deutsche Bahn to increase its financial flexibility.
The paper was placed especially with institutional investors from the UK. It will be listed on the Luxemburg Stock Exchange. With a denomination of GBP 1,000 also retail investors can directly purchase the securities. To avoid foreign currency risk, a cross-currency swap with an identical maturity has been agreed.
The issuing consortium was co-headed by Barclays, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and HSBC.
