First benchmark bond in issued

Deutsche Bahn issued a € benchmark bond with a volume of € 1 billion

(Berlin, January 11, 2018) Deutsche Bahn successfully issued its first € benchmark bond in 2018 today via its financing subsidiary, Deutsche Bahn Finance GmbH. The bond is maturing in less than 10 years and bears a coupon of 1.00 percent and has a total volume of € 1 bn. The proceeds of the new issue will be used by Deutsche Bahn to increase its financial flexibility.

The new bond was mainly issued to institutional investors from Europe and Asia. With a denomination of € 1,000 it will be listed on the Luxemburg Stock Exchange. The issue meets the high standards required by MiFID II, the new EU capital markets regulation, for offers addressed to retail investors. So, even after the implementation of MiFID II, bonds of Deutsche Bahn are still attractive for retail investors.

Joint Bookrunners of the issue are Citigroup, ING, Mizuho and Société Générale.
