DB Supervisory Board appoints three new members to the Management Board

Alexander Doll was appointed new Board Member for Freight Transport and Logistics • Sabina Jeschke appointed new Board Member for Digitalization and Technology • Martin Seiler new Board Member for Human Resources and Legal Affairs

The Management Board of Deutsche Bahn AG is complete again. The Supervisory Board followed the proposals of its Personnel Committee and appointed the 47-year-old Alexander Doll as member of the Management Board for "Freight Transport & Logistics". The 49-year-old Prof. Dr. Sabina Jeschke will become member of the Management Board for "Digitalization and Technology". The Supervisory Board has appointed 53-year-old Martin Seiler as member of the Management Board for “Human Resources and Legal Affairs”. The agreements of all new members of the Management Board will rub for three years each. 

Alexander Doll has been the CEO of Barclays Germany in Frankfurt since 2013. The graduate business manager and banker by training has worked at various banks and financial institutions. As part of his more than 20 years of experience, Doll has overseen numerous national and international transactions in the transport and logistics sectors and thereby obtained in-depth industry expertise. Over that period, he also advised Deutsche Bahn in numerous projects and accompanied other internationally leading companies in the industry. He is familiar with the current trends and challenges in the transport and logistics sector from his previous activities.

Sabine Jeschke, who holds a doctorate in physics, has held a research and teaching position at RWTH Aachen University for more than eight years. She is Director of the interdisciplinary Cybernetics Lab at the Faculty for Machine Engineering, which explores the use of IT and digitalization technologies in engineering sciences. Her focuses include the areas of transport and mobility, internet of things, robotics and automation engineering and artificial intelligence. In many projects and partnerships with renowned companies Jeschke has gained in-depth industry experience. She will be taking up her new role at DB AG in mid-November.

Martin Seiler is switching from Telekom Deutschland GmbH to DB AG, where he has been HR and Labor Director since June 2015 and responsible for 70,000 employees. Seiler began his career at Deutsche Post in Baden-Baden in 1980. After more than 15 years as a member of the works council and the German Postal Trade Union respectively ver.di, Seiler switched to the management of Deutsche Post in Bonn in early 2003. He has been HR Director at Deutsche Telekom since 2010. The new HR board member will start his role on January 1, 2018.
